We believe that every individual Christian is gifted to serve the local church. The work of church leaders is to oversee and encourage this work.
City Church Chelmsford is a plant from Danbury Mission Church. and both churches are led by a single team of elders who are responsible for the teaching, leading and pastoral care of the church.

We are a Christian, independent, evangelical church that believes in the authority of the Bible for all of life. We affirm the historic Christian beliefs expressed in the Apostles Creed and the Nicene Creed. We also subscribe to the FIEC Doctrinal Basis.

We have a heart for God, one another and for Chelmsford.
Our mission is to share the life-changing good news about Jesus with people from every background and to make disciples who follow him through every stage of life.
Our Story
How we got here…
In 2020 a small group of us launched a new church for Chelmsford. Our city was growing rapidly but 97% didn’t know Jesus! A year later we were joined by another local church and together we’re developing the historic Waterfront Place building in central Chelmsford with plans to move in Autumn 2025.
